A Romantic Mediterranean Wedding

Rolling hills are rare in Central Florida’s low landscape, but in Montverde, the Bella Collina is a wedding venue that gives you all the perks of the destination wedding without any of the cost. Driving up the winding roads was like entering a portal to Tuscany, Italy. When planning your ultimate fantasy wedding, keep in mind that finding the perfect venue to fit your theme is essential! With the perfect venue, the décor canflowers 2 do all of the work for you so you only need your final touches to personalize the theme you want to accomplish on your big day. Love Special Events was able to be a part of Michael and Christina’s Greek wedding and see why their theme was a perfect match for their location. We took a step back in time to a beautiful vintage atmosphere to carry the guests through the night with the bride and groom. The centerpieces consisted of beautiful lavenders with cream and burgundy roses. To bring that old, earthy feel to the centerpieces, they were arranged with dollar eucalyptus, Italian ruscus and boxwood. Lastly to finish out a vintage touch, the tables were decocakerated with gold and silver mercury glass candles on top of café cream linens. If you were to stumble into the reception, you’d think you’d have just entered a romantic Mediterranean getaway.  Touches that we felt really pulled together the reception were the fresh boxwood sprigs added to the meWedding Menunu design to pull them together with the centerpieces and create a delicate design. When the reception began, and speeches were said, the guests along with the bridge and groom danced throughout the night.  If you’d like LOVE Special Events help you with your magical day or help you with the process every step of the way, click here to contact us. Summer Weddings in Florida

Florida is known for its notoriously hot summers, especially here in Central Florida.

Most of the time couples veer away from having weddings in July or August in Florida. But, there are ways to beat the heat, especially when the best deals are on the table, being that July and August are the most cost effective times in the year to have a Florida wedding.

If you are on a budget, and dream of a beautiful tropical wedding, it is possible in Florida for the Summer season. Take the beautiful destination wedding we just coordinated for a lovely couple from Scotland at the Orlando World Center Marriott Spa Terrace. This beautiful wood deck looking over the pond, golf course and lush tropical foliage is an ideal location. By adding personal touches and accents made this wedding quaint and picture perfect.

Tip #1-We highly recommend when having a summer outdoor ceremony, request an ice filled bucket with wash cloths from your venue. This allows for the reverse hot towel “luxury” you get at a fine dining experience. The cool cloth provides a refreshing sensation, place it on the back of your neck and you will feel much cooler (and not ruin ladies makeup). A great amenity for your guests on those boldly warm days.

Tip #2 –Provide shade if at all possible. Large market umbrellas, under some beautiful trees or if budget allows professional misters and air movers can help bring down the feel of the temperature by 10 degrees.

Tip #3 –Prepare your guests for the heat. Make sure your guest are well informed that you intend to get married OUTSIDE in Florida and that it will be HOT, so they can dress appropriately. This is best paired with a more casual reception, asking guests to dress in formal attire for a day light summer wedding in Florida is frankly a lot to ask. If you dream of a formal wedding, then find a venue with a lovely indoor garden atrium in air-conditioning, many hotels in Central Florida offer this amenity. Conversely you also want make sure your 20 year old cousin doesn’t show up in a bathing suit.

Tip #4 –Keep the ceremony short – real short – for our UK couple, since it was small guest list of family and close friends, we asked the guests to wait inside the hotel lobby until everyone was ready and then we escorted them out to the wedding location. The total time the guests were outside was less than 20 minutes and with those iced down tea towels, the time outside was bearable, even in full dress wool kilts.

Tip # 5 –Have a rain backup plan. It will mostly likely rain at any given day and at any moment in the months of June through August in Central Florida. Have a backup plan that you feel good about how the pictures will look. Have a floral and decoration design back up for the space as well. At LOVE Special Events we make sure to recommend decor elements that can easily be moved inside with less than 1 hour “rain call”. As well as some “shower” proof options that can withstand our infamous “5 minutes of passing rain”.

Much thanks to Mr. & Mrs Hill, spreading some Summer LOVE and wedding happiness. Wedding Photographs by Jen Adams & Associates:

You Gotta Love Spring…

Spring wouldn’t be same without the brilliant yellow Forsythia shrubs that blossom all around us and are the first to bloom every spring. You always know once you see these flowers sprouting spring is upon us! Bright Pinks and Yellows are totally inspiring and are just the vibrant colors to use for any Spring Event. Pink Florals are not your only option for adding color at your event, but hot pink chair sashes add a perfect touch of energetic color. Another great approach on a sunny day for an outside event is to create a Spring luncheon feast, a beautiful yet affordable seating option- the feasting table, also known as a family gathering table, a perfect option for a smaller intimate wedding for a group just under 40 people. img-yougotta

Event Design Tips & Tricks

Introducing the first of Love’s monthly blog segment entitled “Event Design Tips & Tricks”. Why shouldn’t your wedding or event replicate those you see on TV and in magazines.

You can add pizazz and a touch of your own creativity at your event’s name card table simply drawing from your own relationship milestones, interests or funny life moments. Whether you met your husband to be at a Jazz club and you both adore classic Jazz records, your place cards can commemorate that day as replica ticket stubs designed as place cards, your love of Jazz theme can even be carried into your centerpieces with tiny numbered records a top each table. All you need is an idea along with your own personal experience to add to your event to make it all your own. All it takes is finding something personal to you to name your tables, whether it happened during your relationship, or is a common interest you share, tell your story at your event. One of our recently married couples were both water babies and they named their tables after the different boats. Don’t be afraid to add your own flair for creativity, as your planner we can make it work and look good! From hand folder flowers (Which one of my last brides, Megan, handcrafted herself) To Chinese to go Buckets, which can be used for double duty, place cards to candy buffet take aways. img-event1

The Sea Of Love

October is a wonderful month for weddings here in Florida. The weather finally starts to get cooler and the humidity is subsiding. We had the pleasure to work with a couple this October at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

The wedding couple – Aimee & Jimmy loved the beach, Key West, boating and the ocean. With that shared passion they wanted to incorporate that into their wedding theme. Ocean blues, earth tone browns and natural whites gave way as the color palette, and were featured from the floral bouquets, the brides maid dresses, sand ceremony, cake, right down to the table centerpieces which were unique coral pieces from Key West. Each of these coral pieces showed off crystal marine life – dolphins, swordfish, starfish and turtles and were placed on rotating platters which added movement to each table. Marine blue up lighting added pops of color to the room perimeter.

Dance The Night Away At Fred Astaire Dance Studio!

Sometimes you just want to dance! Our wedding coordinators, Stacey and Emily, recently had the opportunity to spend the afternoon dancing at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Windermere with instructor, Billy Bowser. The studio was beautiful and the instructors were so talented and friendly. Billy’s background in education really made the difference in the way he presented the dances to us. Every person learns in a different way and Billy is able to quickly adapt to each learning style. He was even able to help our klutzy wedding duo gracefully slide across the dance floor like pros! We were really excited to hear about the customized wedding dance programs offered at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Their team can help you with anything from simple instruction to choreographed dances in private or group lessons. Practice makes perfect and our friends at Fred Astaire Dance Studio know this. They offer open dance evenings for their students so they can come in and practice a variety of dances with others who are also learning. So if you are considering a choreographed dance for your wedding party or an elegant first dance, definitely let check out Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Windermere.. A beautiful dance is such a unique touch to make your wedding a day to remember!
